Every summer local High Schools and Colleges put up these fundraising races that help students prepare for their upcoming XC season. We are not racing these as a team; however, it would be a good idea to jump into these races to fine-tune your racing for our upcoming USATF XC season. Below is a list of local popular races and a little blurb about them.

- Santa Clarita – College of The Canyons Summer Series (COC) >>>
THURSDAYS The biggest of all the summer XC races, it draws 600-900 runners per race. This is a great competition and very well organized. The Fee is $10 per race, $50 for the series. The races start at 7 pm.- 7/5

- Thousand Oaks – La Reina HS >>>
TUESDAYS – For those that live in the west side, There’s this fun XC race La Reina HS puts on every Tuesday. It’s a smaller crowd but you get some competition from the high school kids and Collegiate sometimes, just depends who shows up. Also it’s super family-friendly, it caters to introducing elementary kids to XC racing. The entry fee is only $6 and the race starts at 6:30 pm- 7/10

- Palmdale – Pelona Park – High Desert Running Club
THURSDAYS – If you are up for a drive and a challenging course, then this is your adventure race. It’s at 1K ft elevation (trust us, you will feel your lungs burn), it’s desert hotness, it’s dusty, it’s sandy, it’s a hilly course and you got some strong competition from local HS runners. The race is put on by the High Desert Running Club. Our friend/race director Alan Brown is always happy to see NBB make the drive and participate in his challenging course. Entry is FREE but they have donation boxes and no change so if you bring a $20 bill that’s what it will cost you so get change ahead of time or not if you feel charitable. The races start at 6:45 pm- 6/28

Rocky Peak 30K / 50K – 2018
June 8, 2018
New Basin Blues is partnering up with
for its second annual Rocky Peak 30k/50k Trail Race on October 20th, 2018! Proceeds from this race will help raise money for NBB’s High School XC Shoe Fund. Last year we raised about $1600 and we hope to double that amount this year!
